We have painted the SUP board now and have started to glass. I will add photos of the glassing this coming week. We plan to put it out on the water for its first time this friday. Can’t wait to see if our design ideas and theories work out. Stay tuned to see what happens. Looks like some great weather ahead. We will start taking orders on boards next week.

That is right, we are getting rid of the winter gear for the “winter that never happened.” We figure it is time to make room for the season that seems to be dominating the weather forecast.

Jay and I started shaping the first flat water sup this week at the shop. We are hoping to have it ready to show next weekend and on the water sometime the
the week after. we have spent many hours thinking and planning the design and now we are putting all the ideas into a touring style board. I will keep updating the blog as it takes shape this week.

Suping and Stand Up Paddling Season

Snow has turned to rain the past few days here in Salt Lake City, and people are getting up the courage to grab their SUP boards and go out into the cold water of the local lakes around the area.

It’s only March and already people are coming into our small shop to inquire about our paddle boards and paddle boarding gear.

Just today, we had someone come and buy the first SUP board of the season from Salt Lake Surf. We are getting really excited about the new possibilities that this season with present Utah locals, and people all over the country and world.

With our new custom SUP shaping area, we will be able to provide completely unique SUP boards, that are custom shaped and designed here at Salt Lake Surf.

And with the new online shop and store, it brings these custom paddle boards to people all over the country and world.

New Shaping Room: Custom Flat Water SUP and more….

Jay Hill and I have been hard at work making changes at the shop. Salt Lake Surf will be offering their own brand of boards within the next couple of weeks and they will be made in the shop. We will start with a proving flat water design and then have the ability to customize it to fit your exact needs and taste. You will have the option of your own graphics and colors and size or just buy a stock board off the shelf. Keep checking back as we will start uploading the images of the first boards in the next two weeks.
